Always Call Ahead on Special Days

Before heading out on either date, call the venue directly to confirm happy hour is running. Juneteenth (June 19) is a federal holiday — some Mon–Fri venues may close or skip happy hour. Father's Day (June 21) is one of the busiest restaurant days of the year — specials may be replaced by prix-fixe menus, hours may shift, and popular spots fill up fast.

Reservations are strongly recommended for any venue that takes them, especially for dinner-adjacent happy hours (4pm and later) on Father's Day. Many bar-only happy hours are walk-in, but call ahead for groups. Prices, hours, and availability are always subject to change without notice.

This is a rare double-event weekend for Las Vegas. Friday, June 19 is Juneteenth — a federal holiday that extends the weekend and gives many people an extra day off. Then Sunday, June 21 is Father's Day, one of the year's biggest dining-out occasions. Between these two dates, LVHHGuide's database shows hundreds of happy hours running across the valley — from the Strip to Henderson to Summerlin to Chinatown. Here are the best picks for each day, what to watch out for, and everything you need to know before you go.

🎉

Friday, June 19 — Juneteenth 363 venues

Federal Holiday · Long Weekend Kickoff

Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021, marking the end of slavery in the United States. It's a day of both reflection and celebration — and this year it falls on a Friday, turning it into a genuine long weekend. With many people off work, the bars and patios come alive earlier than usual. Based on LVHHGuide's database, 363 venues are scheduled to run happy hours on June 19 — all Daily venues, all schedules that include Friday, and weekday (Mon–Fri) venues.

⚠️ The Mon–Fri caveat: 123 venues in LVHHGuide run Mon–Fri happy hours only. Since Juneteenth is a federal holiday, some may close or skip — especially those inside resorts or that follow their staff's holiday schedule. Call ahead for any Mon–Fri venue you're planning on.

Sunday, June 21 — Father's Day 264 venues

Weekend · One of the Biggest Dining Days of the Year

Father's Day is one of the top-five busiest restaurant days in the country. In Las Vegas, that means extraordinary happy hour options running across the city — and extraordinary demand for seats. LVHHGuide shows 264 venues with Sunday happy hours, covering all Daily schedules plus any venue whose days include Sunday.

⚠️ Reservations strongly recommended. Father's Day is not a day to walk into a nice restaurant without a plan. Strip steakhouses, seafood spots, and rooftops fill up well in advance. Some venues also run Father's Day prix-fixe menus that replace or supplement regular happy hour — ask when you call.

💡 Practical Tips for Both Days

🎉 Juneteenth — June 19

  • Federal holiday means many people have the day off — expect bars to be busy by mid-afternoon, especially Downtown and the Strip.
  • Mon–Fri venues may be closed or skip happy hour. This is the biggest risk. Always call the day before (Thursday) to confirm.
  • Many venue websites won't reflect holiday changes until the day of — phone calls are more reliable than checking online.
  • Start early if you want the pick of the seating — most happy hours open at 3pm.
  • The Arts District and Downtown are ideal for a local, relaxed Juneteenth afternoon.

👨 Father's Day — June 21

  • Book a reservation now if you haven't already. June 21 will fill up — especially Strip venues, steakhouses, and seafood spots.
  • If you can't get a reservation, focus on bar-seating-only happy hours where it's first-come, first-served.
  • Some venues run Father's Day prix-fixe menus that replace or modify their regular happy hour. Ask when you call to confirm.
  • The brunch window exists too: Toasted Gastrobrunch (8–11am daily) and Mr. Mamas Southwest (7–9am daily) for early celebrations.
  • Oysters are everywhere on the Sunday list — Bardot's $1 Oyster Sunday, Social Hour's $1 oysters, Rustic House's $2 oysters, and Joe's Stone Crab's $1 oysters are all running.
